Specialises in: developing Computer Models in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

He gained his PhD in Gaseous Detonation Waves at Aberystwyth University. He then worked at Rolls-Royce for over 30 years developing computer models in several different fields. Initially these included novel combustors and high-power lasers. The latter, developed using MOD contacts, covered Gas-Dynamic laser performance, Unstable Optical Resonators, and Atmospheric propagation including Thermal Blooming effects. He was also responsible for developing the theoretical aspects of the SCORPIO computer system which measures the orientation of single crystal material in components such as turbine blades. This led to the world wide sale of the system, as well as the Roy Sharp prize awarded by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing. More recently he has been involved in developing the theoretical aspects of stealth techniques especially in relation to Gas Dynamics and Infra-Red emissions. He has thirty-five years experience in writing Fortran software and more recently applications using Visual Basic and Visual Fortran.
